About Yoga Therapy
The ancient science of Yoga Therapy focuses on the path of healing as a journey to bring greater balance to the body and mind through an experiential understanding of the primary intention of Yoga: the awakening of Spirit and our essential divine nature. The primary teachings which resonate in my work with clients are based on the tenets of Hatha Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Nada Yoga. The practice is open to any and all ages and abilities. If you can breathe, you can do yoga!
Nurturing and developing positive relationships with ourselves and as well as connecting with others is an important facet of being human. Paramount to that, our connection to the divine can be even more of a catalyst of healing as we process old patterns no longer serving us as we integrate new ways of being in the world. By developing a personalized practice and supported study the potential to develop and evolve towards a best life reveals itself and expressions of happiness and joy are amplified.

Emotion in Motion
Hatha yoga and asana practice or the physical poses/postures are used primarily as the physical portal to understanding and tuning into the outer body to access the inner energy of central nervous system. Simple movements when integrated with the breath strengthen our nerve transmissions to the brain and can decrease tension and stress. Yoga is taught as a way to activate the parasympathetic nervous system allowing for relaxation, intuitive leaning, and the opportunity to heal reveal itself.
Exploring The Divine
Bhakti Yoga is defined as a spiritual path but more simply means the practice of actively embracing participation and devotion through each endeavor or journey of life experience as it presents itself. Whatever or wherever that may be. Bhakti yoga asks us to discover how and what we want to worship in our lives. It inspires us to stay the course while being true to our beliefs and values as we set goals and achieve them.
Connection to the Cosmos
Nada Yoga emphasizes the premise the entire cosmos and all that exists in the cosmos, including human beings, consists of sound vibrations, called nāda. This concept holds that it is the sound of energy in motion rather than matter and particles which form the building blocks of our existence. In Nāda yoga, a simple sound, a spoken prayer, or sanskrit mantra carries a spiritual weight more meaningful. The sound itself it paramount as it is considered to play a stronger medium or intermediary role in achieving a deeper connection to the divine and unity with spirit.
